Audi unveils new AUDI E concept

Audi has unveiled a new AUDI E concept in Shanghai which is said to herald a new brand that the firm will be introducing to China, confusingly named "AUDI".
That's right. The logo with the four rings is going to be replaced with the Audi name, spelled out in four capital letters. A new collaboration between the German car maker and Chinese manufacturer SAIC, the new AUDI brand is said to combine Audi's now-how in premium products and design, overall vehicle development, and engineering with SAIC's innovative spirit, well-established technology ecosystem, and deep insight into the Chinese market.
Three cars are already set to be unveiled by the new brand, all also set to be exclusive to China and based on a new Advanced Digitised Platform. Sales of the first of these is currently scheduled to commence in 2025.
And here to offer us an early look into what these models might offer, is this AUDI E concept.
Standing at 4,870mm long, 1,990mm wide and 1,460mm tall (so not as long, a bit wider and nearly the same height as the Audi A6 Sedan), this AUDI E concept is described as a fully electric Sportback. And it comes with some mighty figures for an all-electric car.
Audi states it is looking at a total power output 570kW (that's 764bhp, btw) alongside a peak torque of 800Nm - enough to see the car sprinting to 100km/h from a standstill in just 3.6 seconds, and uncomfortably close to the firm's electric performance flagship RS e-tron GT performance's century sprint time of 2.5 seconds.
And powering all this will be a 100kWh battery, which will give the car a CLTC range of 700km. For those wondering, its an 800V architecture that allows up to 370km of range to be added with just 10 minutes of rapid charging.
Inside, the AUDI E concept is set to get nifty features including access to an entertainment and app ecosystem as well as an AI avatar that will offer emotional feedback when interacted with via touch and voice controls. Also set to be present here is touch sensitive bar that will allow users to through the car's content effortlessly.
We can't want to see exactly how those three new models will look like.
