Jaguar Land Rover has announced that it has completed recruitment of 200 undergraduates from diverse backgrounds to work across its U.K. facilities.
The firm states that it is recruiting these students after a host of engagement activities across the U.K. and hopes to encourage diversity while the application process more equitable. The undergraduates will take up roles throughout July and August across the West Midlands, Halewood and Manchester, and come equipped with skills ranging from manufacturing, electrical and software engineering, design, strategy development amongst others.
This new addition from the firm comes after a previous recruitment drive which saw the firm calling for over 250 electrification engineering roles at its Gaydon and Whitley facilities to support the development of its next generation electric vehicles. Jaguar Land Rover states that it will continue to recruit for new roles, even as 650 apprentices and degree apprentices are set to join its operations in September 2024.
The firm states that this intake is but part of its Reimagine strategy which will see it offering electric versions of all its models by 2030, and its goal to become carbon net zero by 2039.
