MINI Asia announced on Wednesday (23 October 2024) that the all-new Cooper C 5-Door and the Aceman have been made available for sale in Singapore.
The Cooper C 5-Door is a combination of traditional and modern styling with ingenious assistance systems, while the Aceman is the first crossover model for the premium small car segment, and the first of its kind.
With a length of 4,036mm, a width of 1,744mm and a height of 1,464mm, the Cooper 5-Door's compact silhouette is comfortable manoeuvring tight spaces. In comparison to the all-new Cooper 3-Door, its wheelbase and body are 72mm and 172mm longer respectively.
Sporting the iconic MINI round headlights with the front grille to form the distinctive MINI face, the MINI aesthetic continues at the Cooper C 5-Door's rear with vertically aligned LED clusters reminiscent of the classic MINI lights.
In its interior, the textile surfaces - made of recycled polyester - extend across the dashboard and into the door panels. The JCW seats come as standard. At the rear, knocking the 60:40 folding rear seats down bumps the boot space from 275 litres to up to 925 litres.
Equipped with a 1.5-litre TwinPower Turbo with seven-speed dual clutch transmission, the Cooper C 5-Door offers 150bhp with 230Nm of torque, enabling it to go 0-100km/h in 8.0 seconds.
Launched alongside the Cooper C 5-Door is the MINI Aceman. Built atop of a bespoke electric platform, the Aceman completes the three-member lineup of the new MINI family, and marks the brand's first electric-only model (meaning that there are no combustion-powered variants of the car).
Measuring 4,070mm in length, 1,750mm in width, and 1,500mm in height, the Aceman slots between the Cooper and Countryman in size, while boasting efficient space utilisation that helps it remain agile and nimble in urban traffic.
With short overhangs and a two-box design, the car's adventurous character is accentuated by standard roof rails, visually accentuated 19-inch wheels and underride protection on all sides.
The Aceman has also adopted typical MINI designs like the headlights and front grille, while its grille surround extends into the underride protection on the front. In addition, the wheel arches sporting a long rearward sweep and steep downturn are an exclusive feature of the car.
Generous door interiors and legroom give the Aceman's cockpit a well-sized look. Its rounded interior design style is further embodied by the dashboard's curved surfaces. The rear seats offer enough space for three, and knocking its 60:40 folding backseats down can bump the boot space from 300 litres to 1,005 litres.
The MINI Aceman will be offered in two variants: The Aceman E and Aceman SE.
Like the Cooper E, the Aceman E is powered by a 110kW (148bhp) electric motor generating 290Nm of torque, allowing it to go 0-100km/h in 9.2 seconds with a top speed of 160km/h. Its 42.5kWh battery offers a range of up to 310km. Its power figures make it eligible for a Category A COE in Singapore.
In comparison, the Aceman SE has a 160kW (215bhp) electric motor generating 330Nm of torque, enabling it to go 0-100km/h in 7.1 seconds with a top speed of 170km/h. Its 54.2kWh battery offers a range of up to 407km.
The car's battery can be charged via alternating current with 11kW, with fast charging available for the Aceman E (75kW) and SE (95kW), allowing the battery to go 10% to 80% in just under 30 minutes.
