Porsche has unveiled the 911 Turbo 50 Years, a special anniversary model designed to mark the 50th anniversary of the 911 Turbo.
The special edition car makes a nod to its long history with standard side graphics that take inspiration from the Porsche 911 RSR Turbo (the forerunner of the 911 Turbo) presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1973. These come in Turbonite, a colour also utilised for the car's rear engine cover inlays, fuel tank cap, and its Porsche crest.
The car's rear wing blade, rear apron, mirror base and air intake trims all also come in Anthracite Grey, while a badge that features the turbocharger icon appears on its rear engine cover.
The car also projects the image of a turbocharger when its doors are opened. 911 Turbo S Exclusive Design wheels in Turbonite as standard finish off the design upgrades for the special edition model.
In the cabin, the 911 Turbo 50 Years comes complete with McKenzie tartan centre panels for its seats, while its seat belts, controls, decorative stitching, trim strips, and Porsche crest on the GT sports steering wheel all come in Turbonite.
The car also comes with an aluminium anniversary plaque that bears both the Turbo 50 logo and the individual limited-edition number of the sports car above the glove compartment, while an analogue Porsche Design Subsecond clock with a special Turbo 50 design adorns its dashboard.
The Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years is based on the 911 Turbo S, so power for the special edition model comes courtesy of a 3.5-litre engine with variable turbine geometry twin turbocharging, allowing it to deliver a total output of 641bhp and 800Nm of torque. This power will see the car taking just 2.7 seconds to complete the century sprint.
Only 1,974 examples of the Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years are set to be built, in honour of the year in which the first 911 Turbo made its debut. Deliveries of the special edition car will start in the third quarter of 2024.
