A special Audi Ur Quattro 2.2 Turbo RR 20V will be heading to auction in the U.K.
The car is said to be but one of the four examples that served as press cars in the country (it is identifiable via its registration plates) and has since undergone a thorough mechanical and cosmetic overhaul, done over the past five years.
This specific example of the UR Quattro is said to have been lined up in a head-to-head test against the Lancia Delta Integrale in February 1990. It has since been rejuvenated, thanks to a pair of donor Audi Coupes (used for replacement parts), while its engine has come from another RR 20V Quattro.
This replacement engine was fitted with an aftermarket turbocharger, new fuel injectors and has received a new exhaust system, allowing it to deliver a claimed 300bhp. The car's body, meanwhile, has received a pair of new front wings and has been repainted back to its original Tornado Red colour, after a previous owner painted it black.
Those in the U.K. will be able to view and inspect the car in person come 23 July 2024 at the Pavilion Gardens, Buxton, while those confined to Singapore's shores can bid for the car online via H&H Classics' website here.
