Skoda deploys Kodiaq to assist forgetful parents

Skoda has launched a pop-up beach hotline at the Mersea Island Beach in Essex, U.K. to mark the nation's National Beach Day.
The pop-up hotline is intended to help frazzled parents who may have forgotten their beach essentials on their family daytrip - families simply need to pick up the Skoda green phone that will be temporarily placed at the beach, and request what they need, whether it’s sunglasses, snacks, suncream or beach towels.
A Skoda Kodiaq already packed full of essentials for a day out at the beach will then come to assist.
The hotline comes after Skoda conducted a survey and found that 44% of parents have forgotten something on a family day trip with suncream, water bottles and wet wipes topping the list. A whopping 35% of parents also reported that their child had a meltdown as a result of missing essentials. It also cites research that states that the British seaside in the nation’s favourite destination, and that 30% of families venture out for a daytrip at least once a week.
The survey of 1,000 mums and dads with children aged 14 and under also revealed that getting out the door is no easy feat, with 29% of parents spending two whole hours or more trying leave the house for a daytrip. But despite the necessary planning, one in 10 frantic families admitting to forgetting the obvious beach towel and 12% leave behind a change of clothes for their kids.
