Skoda has announced its all-new Kylaq, to be unveiled in the Indian market on 6 November 2024 as part of the next phase of its product campaign.
The compact SUV, which will be entering the popular sub-4-metre segment, will join the Kodiaq and Kushaq as the third Skoda model locally developed and produced in India, the brand's largest market outside of Europe.
At its Covered Drive event, the Kylaq was cloaked in a special camouflage designed by Harun Robert, in celebration of Skoda's 24 years in the Indian market. The paintjob reflects Indian cultural motifs and colours, like the car's name.
Boasting high ground clearance (189mm) and ample wheel space (2,556mm wheelbase) ensures better handling on rough roads, while Skoda design elements like its signature daytime running lights and a hexagon pattern on its sides and rear add to its distinctive look.
Measuring 3,995mm long, the Kylaq is powered by a 1.0 TSI engine delivering 85kW (114bhp) and 178Nm of torque, offering the choice of a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.
Equipped with assistance systems including a multi-collision brake and six airbags as standard, the Kylaq is built on the robust MQB-A0-IN platform, which was introduced in 2021 and tailored to the Indian market. It is the first platform developed by the company outside of Europe.
