Kia has unveiled the 2026 Kia Sportage at the 2024 LA Auto Show, which will run from 22 November 2024 to 1 December 2024.
As Kia's longest running nameplate, the Sportage underwent its most significant change since the fifth-generation model launched almost three years ago. The 2026 Sportage comes in three distinct powertrain variants – ICE, Turbo Hybrid (HEV), and Turbo Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) – with a trim range that including the X-Line and X-Pro Prestige trims.
The Sportage ICE uses a 2.5-litre engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission, offering 190bhp and comes in front or all-wheel drive. Both the Sportage HEV and PHEV use a 1.6-litre turbo gasoline direct injection engine with six-speed automatic transmission, with the HEV using a 47.7kW motor and offers 234bhp with front or all-wheel drive, while the PHEV uses a 72kW motor and offers 272bhp with all-wheel drive.
Embodying Kia's “Opposites United” design philosophy, the Sportage features front and rear design enhancements, with upgrades in its interior such as the Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) with a standard curved 12.3-inch touchscreen display, 10-inch HUD, and 41.3-inches of rear legroom. Digital Key features are also available for remote lock, unlock, and start capabilities.
The 2026 Sportage's expansive lineup includes a new sporty S and capable X-Line trim for the Sportage HEV. Sportage models with the turbo hybrid powertrain get increased horsepower, while X-Line, X-Pro, and all all-wheel drive models equipped with standard Terrain Mode (Snow, Mud, Sand).
Certain trims will be assembled in at Kia's manufacturing plant in Georgia, with the 2026 Sportage expected to arrive in the brand's showrooms in the second quarter of 2025, with prices to be announced closer to its on-sale date.
