Find the new Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport appealing but think you'd rather travel in something with an all-electric drivetrain?
You'll be glad to note that Volkswagen has announced that it is now taking in orders for the ID.3 GTX Performance. This new all-electric hatch comes with a total of 274bhp, but easily surpasses the GTI Clubsport by offering a peak torque of 545Nm. All this translates into the ability to sprint from zero to 100km/h in just 5.7 seconds.
Energy for the ID.3 GTX Performance comes from a 79kWh battery, which can be charged at a maximum power of 185kW and gives the car a WLTP range of 601km.
The ID.3 GTX Performance also comes with a MacPherson suspension setup at its front axle and a five-link setup at its rear axle. Volkswagen adds that the ID.3 GTX Performance gets stronger stabilisers alongside a suspension tuning designed for the high performance of its drive system, and a modified Sport Dynamic Chassis Control system designed to deliver precise handling and perfect roadholding.
The performance-oriented model comes with a redesigned black air intake with a diamond-style design alongside 20-inch Skagen GTX rims, which are available in black as an option. The car comes with 12.9-inch display and the firm's IDA voice assistant with ChatGPT in its cabin, although customers will additionally be able to specify features including a head-up display and a Harman Kardon premium sound system.
