Aston Martin has announced that it has delivered one special example of the Valkyrie to its own Formula One Team Driver, Fernando Alonso.
Alonso is said to have driven his Valkyrie through the streets of Monaco, from the city's iconic Monte Carlo Bay Hotel. His car, as you'd expect, comes in a special specification created in partnership with the design team at Aston Martin's bespoke service, Q by Aston Martin and taking inspiration from the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team AMR24 race car.
The special Valkyrie comes finished in Aston Martin Racing Green, and sports bespoke contrasting AMR Satin Lime Graphics to highlight its aerodynamic features. It also gets its venturi tunnel complete with Speed Red and Light and Dark Blue painted graphics, whiles its roof and engine cover comes in exposed carbon fibre. A bespoke 'Caution hot' graphic has also been applied to the rear.
Its cabin, meanwhile, continues to feature swarths of exposed carbon fibre alongside acres of Pure Black Alcantara, with a contrasting AMR Line stitch to boot. Alonso's infamous logo has also been embroidered into the headrests in the same AMR Lime thread. And the car gets one final special touch: Its accelerator pedal comes in red and has been etched with the number '14', paying homage to the driver's number, who was chosen at the age of 14 on 14 July 1996 when he became karting world champion with No.14.
The Aston Martin Valkyrie makes use of a 1,139bhp hybrid 6.5-litre V12 powertrain that allows it to sprint to 96km/h from a standstill in just 2.5 seconds. Each Valkyrie is built at the marque's headquarters in Gaydon by a team of highly skilled technicians and is said to consume over 2,000 man hours to create.
