With the unveiling of the new BMW F 900 R and the BMW F 900 XR, BMW Motorrad has taken its popular mid-range product segment to a new level.
Both models are suitable for new, experienced, or returning riders and while the F 900 R focuses primarily on sporty riding pleasure, the F 900 XR is more ideal for longer tours and holiday trips with luggage.
Both models are fitted with a two-cylinder in-line engine with 895cc capacity and 105bhp of power, and delivers a full-bodied torque curve in the current Euro 5+ homologation. Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) comes as standard alongside engine drag torque control.
On both bikes, the front wheel is guided by upside-down telescopic forks with 43mm slider tube diameter, which can be adjusted to suit individual requirements. 17-inch cast aluminium wheels are standard, alongside a new feature called BMW Motorrad ABS Pro that enables ABS-assisted braking at lean angles.
The F 900 XR comes with Headlight Pro as standard, as well as a USB-C charging port on the right-hand side of the cockpit with a maximum charging current of 2.4A, and the heated grips. It also sports improved aerodynamic qualities for increased touring capability and comfort.
The F 900 R is available in three colours and variants: Snapper Rocks Blue metallic (basic variant), Blackstorm metallic (Triple Black), and Lightwhite with Racingblue metallic (version Sport). The F 900 XR also offers the same three colours and variants, with the only difference being its basic variant in Racing Red.
