Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Centre Singapore (HMGICS) has announced the winner of its inaugural Ioniq 6 design competition as part of its ongoing partnership with Lasalle to offer learning opportunities and exposure to real-world industry applications.
The competition was open to and featured students from Lasalle's Diploma in Design for Communication and Experiences program, each tasked with creating decal designs for the Ioniq 6.
Five finalists received mentorship from renowned Singaporean urban artist and illustrator Toby Tan, whose involvement in this competition – and having previously created vibrant artwork for the Ioniq 5 - reinforces HMGICS' commitment to elevating the visibility of art in Singapore.
The winner of the competition - and one of the five finalists - was first-year Lasalle student Ngo Quynh Phuong, who earned an all-expenses-paid, four-day trip to Seoul, South Korea, where she will get the chance to explore design philosophy at various renowned museums and Hyundai Motorstudio Goyang.
This competition supports emerging designers, highlighting Hyundai's focus on integrating taste and vision into the design of vehicles and its commitment to design excellence.
A public display of the styled Ioniq 6 in the winning car decal and collaborative design by Toby and Phuong will be held in the first quarter of 2025.
