On 13 November 2024, the European New Car Assessment Program (Euro NCAP) released its latest safety test result, with the Omoda E5, the first global model of Omoda & Jaecoo, maintaining its five-star safety rating.
The very next day (14 November 2024), the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) also gave the car a five-star safety rating, meaning that the Omoda E5 has achieved dual five-star ratings from the world's two most authoritative safety institutions.
In the Euro NCAP safety test, additional frontal offset and oblique pole crash tests were conducted, with the car scoring 87% for Adult Occupant Protection and Child Occupant Protection, and 88% for the Safety Assist System. In the ANCAP safety test, the Omoda E5 scored similarly, with an additional 83% for Safety Assist.
Designed with a high strength steel ratio of 78%, the front steel structure resists frontal collision impacts while the side structure disperses impact forces to prevent door intrusion, with the occupant compartment remaining stable in the frontal crash test.
In addition, the Omoda E5 excels in active safety technologies, with its AEB system accurately identifying targets across a wider speed range and reducing the risk of potential collisions.
The Omoda E5 has also performed excellently in range comparison tests, boasting an impressive electric range of over 430km. As well as that, the car can be recharged from 30% to 80% in just 28 minutes.
In just 18 months since its launch, Omoda & Jaecoo has entered 32 countries and regions, boasting over 1,000 global showrooms and more than 370,000 users worldwide.
