Skoda Kodiaq and Superb score at Euro NCAP safety tests

Skoda has announced that its Kodiaq and Superb have both scored the maximum five star rating at the Euro NCAP crash safety reference tests.
The Skoda Kodiaq achieved an overall score of 84%, scoring 89% for Adult Occupant protection, 83% for Child Occupant protection, 82% for Vulnerable Road User protection, and 78% for its Safety Assist systems.
The Skoda Superb, meanwhile, achieved 87% of the total maximum points, scoring 93% for Adult Occupant protection, 87% for Child Occupant protection, 82% for Vulnerable Road User protection, and 80% for its Safety Assist systems. The firm states that each of its new models since 2008 have achieved a five-star safety rating from the organisation.
Skoda states that the body of both the Kodiaq and Superb have been designed according to the latest standards and incorporates hot-formed, high-strength steel components. This steel its mainly used on the A and B-pillars, the firewall, and the tunnel console of both cars. In an accident, occupants are also protected by up to 10 airbags for the Skoda Superb and up to nine airbags for the Skoda Kodiaq. Both cars are equipped with a central airbag between the front seats.
