Volvo EX30 SUV scores five stars in Euro NCAP safety tests

The fully electric EX30, Volvo's smallest ever SUV, has attained a maximum five-star rating in the latest round of safety testing by Euro NCAP, a leading independent car safety assessment programme in Europe.

According to Volvo, the EX30 is equipped with safety systems developed from research on real-world accidents for over 50 years and is designed to “help protect its driver and passengers in the event of a crash” through modern restraint technology.

The EX30 also comes with an advanced suite of active safety features that, according to Volvo, “helps avoid and mitigate collisions or risks”, such as a standard advanced driver-alert system. Its intersection auto brake helps lessen the chances of accidents at intersections by bringing the car to a stop if another vehicle crosses its path unexpectedly.

Also included in the EX30 is a door opening alert that warns the driver – via visual and audio cues – to reduce incidents such as collisions with passing cyclists.
