We join in on the Lamborghini Movember Bull Run

Google may have missed out on a special doodle to mark International Men's Day (19 November, if you were wondering), but there will be no shyness when it comes to recognising the issues that men face from the brand of the Raging Bull.
Lamborghini, for those not in the know, has been supporting the Movember movement for four years in a row now. Most recognised by its moustache logo, the movement is concentrated on increasing awareness and the importance of men's and preventive health, with a particular focus on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men's mental health and suicide prevention.
These issues tend to get swept under the rug, whether it's because there's a certain machismo behind being strong and independent that has prevented men from seeking help for these issues, or because the concept of toxic masculinity has recently made a meteoric rise back into popular discussion.
But the manufacturer so well known for its bold and loud cars now wants to make an equally bold and loud statement about how no man should be left to suffer in silence.
And for 2024, Sgcarmart was invited to do its part to amplify this message by joining in on a local 'bull run' - one of the many rallies that happens around the world, all designed to bring attention to the Movember movement and to drive home the message that there should be no fear in seeking help for these issues.
So, for the morning of 23 November 2024, we headed down to the Lamborghini Singapore showroom, where more than 25 Lamborghinis had gathered ahead of the planned drive.
And what a day it was. The morning's breakfast kicked things off, accompanied by the display of Mystical Fractals, a piece created by local Artist Terence Tan (you might have seen some of his colourful depictions of Singapore's cityscape). All gathered at the event not only got to see the piece up close but were also invited to take part in a silent auction for the piece alongside 10 smaller copies of it, the proceeds of which would be donated to the Movember movement.
Once the morning's meal was dispatched, all were then called to join in on the convoy (after a quick safety briefing and run through of the bull run route).
We couldn't possibly hope to keep up with the convoy in our own Sgcarmart minivan of course, but Lamborghini graciously offered us the chance not only to ride in the new Revuelto, but also to sit inside one piloted by none other than Francesco Scardaoni, Lamborghini's own Regional Director for the Asia Pacific region.
We naturally took the opportunity to ask him a few questions along the drive, kicking things off by pointing out the recent efforts by rival firms to bring their brands beyond the showroom, and asking if Lamborghini has plans to do the same, as well as if the firm also had plans to increase its engagement with the fairer sex.
To this end, Mr. Scardaoni shares that the brand has plans to open a Lamborghini Lounge in the region, and that the firm has been very keen to expand its engagement with families through the cultural experiences that are currently offered from the Lamborghini Esperienza drives, especially following the sales success of the Urus SUV, and the rollout of the Urus SE to markets around the globe.
And since we were in the Revuelto, we naturally had to ask what Mr. Scardaoni felt about trends including the rise of autonomous driving and electrification, and if these were threats to the firm, given the fact that its cars have long been so loved for their bold and loud nature.
Mr. Scardaoni replies that the firm has nothing but the utmost respect for its customers wishes and that while it has now made its first foray into the realm of electrification with its latest products, electrification will still be utilised to take the drive experience to a new level at Lamborghini.
He cooly points out that this Revuelto which we are sitting in today, with its electric motors at the front axle, has given Lamborghini the opportunity to offer newfound levels of refinement, without any sacrifice to the emotional performance that the car can deliver.
Bull run completed, we then headed to Gardens by the Bay for a final photo of the cars gathered. But Lamborghini still had one last treat for us in store. In line with the concept of wellness that the Movember movement seeks to promote, the convoy were then invited to head to Hästens at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands for a sound bath therapy session!
